Find out more by exploring this list of 3 fun things to do in Pigeon Forge:
1. Dollywood
The Dollywood amusement park was founded by and named after country music superstar, Dolly Parton. Attracting over 3 million visitors every year, it was named the “#1 Theme Park in the United States” by TripAdvisor. People return time and again to experience all the fun activities! Those who are in for a thrill can ride fun roller coasters, such as the Wild Eagle and the Tennessee Tornado. On the other hand, if you prefer a more laid back experience, come aboard the Dollywood Express. It is an old-time train ride through the Smokies. Along with the rides, the park is also known for its entertaining shows. Fans of live music will love the Harmonies of the Heart show at the Dreamsong Theater. Watch as two of Dolly Parton’s nieces sing songs and tell you about fond memories of their “Aunt Dolly.” Other fun shows include Wings of America Birds of Prey. The stars of the show won’t be singing on stage. Rather, they will be flying above your head. You might even get the opportunity to let one of them perch on your arm. While you’re here, make sure to check out the many shops and restaurants in the area as well, for you can get delicious southern comfort food and fun souvenirs.
2. Titanic Museum
Going to the Titanic Museum is another one of the fun things to do in Pigeon Forge. We have all heard about this grand ship and its unfortunate demise. This attraction’s goal is to bring the many aspects of its history to life. Before you even enter the building, you will see a replica of the Titanic that even includes the infamous iceberg. Inside, there are a variety of fun and interactive activities. Pretend to be a wealthy passenger as you walk the Grand Staircase. See how the ship was powered when you shovel coal in the boiler room. Learn more about the unfortunate event on April 15,1912 as you feel the chill of 28℉ water on your skin and attempt to maintain your balance on a sinking stern. Along with educating visitors about its history, this attraction also works to keep the Titanic's memory alive. Walk into the Memorial Room and see the wall of 2,208 names of the ship’s passengers and crew.
3. The Island in Pigeon Forge
The Island in Pigeon Forge is another fun place to visit! Here, you’ll find great attractions, one of which is the Alcatraz East Crime Museum. It is named after the once famous maximum security prison and military fort in California. As they go through the various exhibits, visitors learn about the history of crime in the United States. There is also an Artifacts Center where you can see objects from some of America’s well-known criminals and famous crimes.
